Marvin Vernon Nordyke Jr. passed away at Porter Hospital in Denver on April 2.
Marvin was born in Alva, Okla., on Sept. 16, 1953, and grew up in Wichita, Kan.
After graduating from Denver Baptist Bible College in 1981, Marvin decided to make Pagosa Springs his home.
Marvin loved nothing more than to be hiking in the mountains. He studied geology and was a passionate rock collector. Silver smithing and lapidary were lifetime hobbies.
Marvin had many dear friends in Pagosa who assisted him throughout his illness.
He is survived by his brother, Russel Nordyke.
