obit-christensenJo Ann Darcy Christensen, Esprit to her spiritual family, passed on peacefully on March 17, surrounded by her three adoring cats and dear friends.

Born Jan. 12, 1940, in Utah, she eventually settled in Pagosa Springs. Her life’s work was fueled by the universal principles of peace, joy, love and abundance. She was an awakener and teacher to help guide people out of fear into their own emotional growth and creative ability. Developing several businesses of her own, she provided workshops and seminars to focus on this passion to encourage others in discovering the power within themselves. She was an accomplished writer, publishing several books, newsletters and articles over the years.

In her home, her artistic expression was apparent. Whether she was sewing, making her beautiful cross-stitch, tole painting, doing puzzles or collecting angels, her creativity was limitless. Everyone that knew her was inspired by her playful, loving energy.

She will be missed, but her light and expression of peace, joy and the oneness of everything lives on.

Cremation took place at Hood Mortuary in Durango and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
