Ronald Dale (R.D.) Hott, 86, a native of Pagosa Springs, passed away suddenly on Aug. 21 at his ranch north of Pagosa Springs. R.D. was born Jan. 27, 1932, the only child of Fern (Macht) and Daily Hott. He was raised on the Millcreek Ranch, riding horseback into town to go to school. He graduated from Pagosa Springs High School with 29 other classmates in 1950. He served time in the Army in Alaska as a chaplain’s assistant, then returned to Pagosa to manage Hott Ranches north of Pagosa Springs for his parents. He served the Pagosa community for many years as a member of the Colorado Mounted Rangers.
Cremation is planned with private inurnment to be held at a later date.
